Which cookies and similar storage Printwright uses, which ones need your consent, and how to change your choice.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar feature that keeps information on your device without sending it to the website with every request. We use local storage for preferences, and no third-party cookies at all. Our live chat provider, Tidio, keeps your conversation in local storage once you open chat, or when the chat loads if you’ve allowed Live chat.
What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Kept for | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
pw-theme | Local storage | Remembers light or dark theme | Until you clear it | Essential (preference) |
pw-steps:… | Local storage | Remembers which steps you ticked on a fix | Until you clear it | Essential (preference) |
pw-fb:… | Local storage | Remembers your “Did this fix it?” answer | Until you clear it | Essential (preference) |
pw-consent | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choice | 12 months | Essential |
pw-chat | Local storage | Remembers that you’ve used chat, so your conversation loads on later pages | Until you clear it | Essential (chat) |
tidio_state_… | Local storage (Tidio) | Keeps your chat conversation going between pages. Set once you open chat, or on arrival if you allow Live chat | Until you clear it | Live chat (consent, or when you open chat) |
Your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice on live chat. Nothing in those categories loads until you allow it: choose “Accept all”, “Reject non-essential”, or “Choose…” to decide one by one. To change your mind, use (also at the bottom of every page). Rejecting has no effect on the guides: every fix works the same. If you turn off Live chat, the chat button still works: chat loads only when you click it.
We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add them, they’ll appear in the banner and in the table above before they’re switched on.
Clearing storage
You can delete cookies and local storage for this site in your browser’s settings (usually under Privacy or Site settings). Doing so resets your theme and your ticked steps.
