Terms of use
The terms that apply when you use Printwright. Plain English where we can manage it.
Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Printwright (“we”, “us”) about your use of printwright.info (the “site”). By using the site you accept them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
What the site is
The site publishes general information about printers: troubleshooting guides, explanations of error codes and messages, how-to guides, notes on brands and printer types, and browser-based tools. It is a free publication with a free live chat where you can ask questions. Answers in chat are general information, in the same way as the guides. We don’t provide repairs, remote assistance, telephone help or any paid service, and nothing on the site, including chat, creates a professional or contractual support relationship between us and you.
Using the guides
The guides describe steps you choose to carry out yourself, on equipment you own or are authorized to work on. Follow safety notes, switch off and unplug a printer before reaching inside it, and stop if something doesn’t match what the guide describes. Opening a printer or using non-genuine supplies can affect a manufacturer’s warranty; check your warranty terms first. Steps marked Advanced (for example registry or firmware changes) carry more risk: back up first and only proceed if you’re comfortable.
Accuracy
We work to keep every page accurate and current, and date each one. Printers, operating systems and manufacturer software change often, and models differ, so we can’t guarantee that every step will match your device or solve your problem. Your printer’s manual and manufacturer’s support site are the authority for your specific model.
Our content
The text, drawings, design and code of the site are owned by Printwright or its licensors and protected by copyright. You may read, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial use, and link to any page. You may not republish, sell or systematically copy the content (including by scraping or for building datasets) without our written permission.
Product names, brand names and trademarks of other companies belong to their owners and are used only to identify the products a guide applies to. Their use doesn’t imply any affiliation or endorsement.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the site to break the law, to interfere with its operation or security, to impersonate us, or to collect information about other visitors. Don’t present our content as your own or use our name to offer support services. Don’t send unlawful, abusive or spam messages through chat.
Links to other websites
We link to manufacturers’ support sites and other resources for your convenience. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.
No warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Printwright will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for damage to equipment, loss of data or loss of profits, arising from your use of the site or from following its guides. Because the site is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Printwright is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep any protection given by the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
